Audio and Lighting Systems Installation
The Brief
Having just had a brand new kitchen fitted in their Cumbria home, Mr and Mrs Heap were looking for exciting smart lighting design and control to be installed to give the kitchen and dining area an ultra-modern feel.
The Project
As the open plan kitchen was the focal entertaining area in the house, we integrated a Denon Heos audio system which has Spotify and Deezer built in – thus providing easy control, as these were apps that the Heaps were already familiar with. We used 4 trimless ceiling speakers which gave a slick, non-obtrusive look, as well as great quality sound. The system also allowed local music stored on an iPad to be played. We downloaded the Heos app and all the stored music was instantly available. Wiring was also configured to allow TV audio to be pushed through the ceiling speakers.
In total we installed 34 metres of RGBW LED tape around plinths, above wall units and around the huge ‘s’ shaped canopy, all controlled via LightwaveRF and a colour touch screen. We also edge lit the granite work tops with warm white LED tape, which gave a truly magical, high end feel to the kitchen.
We also carried out the installation of running cat 5e cables to all TV locations in the home to ensure that services could be distributed from one single point. To keep everything neat and tidy all our equipment was hidden away out of sight, meaning Mr and Mrs Heap can just relax and enjoy without seeing unsightly boxes stacked under the TVs
